Licence terms

Buying a plugin or the bundle gives you a permanent licence to use it. There is no subscription and it does not expire.

You are licensed to use the software, not sold it. The software itself, its code, sounds and design remain the property of Alex Hobson.

Updates are free for as long as they are released, and are covered by these terms.

Each licence key can be activated on two computers at a time, Windows or Mac, in any combination. Both must belong to you or be used by you.

To move a licence to a new computer, email contact@alexhobson.co.uk with your licence key and we will free up an activation.

Use the software in any music you make, for yourself or for clients, including commercial releases, broadcast, live performance and paid mixing and mastering work.

Audio you create with the software is yours. No credit or royalty is owed.

Licences are personal and cannot be sold, transferred, given away or passed on with a computer.

You may not share your licence key, copy or distribute the software or installers, or rent or lend the software to anyone else.

You may not bypass, disable or tamper with licensing or copy protection, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software, except where the law specifically allows it.

H-METER and H-Q are free to download and use under these same terms. They may not be sold or redistributed.

Activating a licence in H-Q needs an internet connection. Once activated, the plugins work offline.

H-Q checks your licence and looks for updates when it is online. What this sends, and how it is stored, is set out in the privacy policy.

Plugin licences can be refunded within seven days of purchase, as set out in the refund policy. The licence is deactivated when the refund is made.

The licence ends if it is refunded, if the payment is reversed through a chargeback, or if these terms are broken, for example by sharing a key or using a cracked copy.

When a licence ends, the software stops working on your computers and you must uninstall it.

Under UK consumer law, the software must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is faulty, contact us and we will fix it, replace it or refund you. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

Keep backups of your projects. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses such as lost income, where the software is used for commercial work.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

These terms may be updated. Changes will not take away anything you have already paid for.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
